IOS 11 - Spotify pauses when opening and closing apps

Ever since I downloaded IOS 11 my spofity app automatically pauses everytime I hit the home button to open another app, also pauses when I reopen my phone after being locked (music playing while locked). I will then turn the music back on in the app and it imeditally pasuses again when I go to the home screen of my phone. Before IOS 11 the app would continousley play, is there anywway to correct this in settings? This will ruin spotify for me otherwise.
