Issue with Mercedes Media / ios connection

I have a Mercedes C class (2016). I am able to use spotify via bluetooth however the DAC in the mercedes bluetooth reciever is pretty terrible so at high volume you get a lot of distortion.

The other method which seems much better is to use the USB connection with my iphone - the problem is as soon as i do this and play spotify i can no longer change the volume via either the car volume control or the phones volume control. The volume just sticks at one level.

Has anyone else noticed this or know a way around it?

Yes i have the same problem with the USB volume thing I can't change the volume it is very annoying.

Solution: You'll need to have at least one music file on iTunes, then you can control the volume via the Mercedes controls when playing spotify.
