Keeps trying to play an ad

I was on chromecast when an ad came up, and it showed as playing, but did not have any sound. I tried to play a song, but then the ad restarted and again showed as playing  but had no sound. I exited spotify, turned off and on my tv, restarted my phone, and even tried updating it, but none of these have worked, and I've not been able to listen to spotify for a day now. Help?
