Logging in IOS10.3.3

Logging in IOS10.3.3

I have install Spotify on an old iPhone 5c running iOS 10.3.3 I have tried to login to the app using two different Spotify account details but none of them work. The app keeps saying that it cannot recognise the account even though they work fine logging via the website and using my iPhone 12.

I have reinstalled the app three times.

First try login on Spotify Website, follow the App Link after Message โ€žSafari not supportedโ€œ install Spotify App from this point. Leave all Windows open. After install, Open Spotify from Appstore Button. Tadaa!! it works like a charm would you say. Fine for my old iPad 4.

I have the exact same issue!  Legacy app works PERFECTLY on my old iPad running iOS 10.3.3, then two days ago I decided to logout of my wife's account and tried to log in with mine...

Got the same**bleep** response "Something went wrong, please try again later".

Nothing went wrong, we are being cheated, that's what's wrong!!!

I've not had a single issue with the legacy app.  Now you try to tell us it's unstable on older iOS!?  There's a WHOLE community here telling you it works perfectly fine!!!

VERY disappointing....

"Spotify for iOS6" still works, I am able to login without issue.

There are alternatives to Spotify.

"The app is trying to use Spotify's v2 api to login even though it's been offline for some time. Try installing "Spotify Login Fix" from my repo , that should force it to use v3 instead."

It's crazy that the app is one hundred percent functional but just needs a minor fix to run...

Please fix issue, Spotify, it should be possible for you to do so

This is a **bleep** poor of a reply. It almost seems IA written. Do better

I ran into the same problem, so here's how I solved that issue in case it helps more people.

We had an old iPhone 5C and I thought to refurbish it and have only Spotify, so the children could stream music to a Bluetooth speaker they have, without having to use an iPad or my phone.
I could not get past the login of the app. I also ended up in this topic and I was discouraged so I gave up.

Today I tried to install the Spotify app on our iPad. I use 1Password for my password management, but I don't have it on the iPad since my children use the device too. So I added from my mobile phone (iOS 17) to the iCloud keychain the login credentials and when I opened the Spotify app on the iPad it didn't even required a login, it already opened in my Spotify account.
Then tried the same with the iPhone 5C running iOS 10, and this time skipped the login page as well and it's fully operational.

Not sure if the experience is degraded in comparison the newer apps, but for my purpose, as a music player for children, works well.

So bad!! Spotify should release versions for old devices that allow to simple music reproduction, which is their main service. There is no reason why the don't do that. You are loosing money, as philosophy of people who use old devices is not going to change. Better include everyone on the use os Spotify. Can't wait to see that. Cheers
