Login process on setup of new iPhone is broken

I just restored my data to a new iPhone 8 Plus, latest iOS (11.0.3) and I had a very poor experience trying to log into Spotify. I was able to eventually do it, but it is currently broken.

When opening spotify it asks me to log in, when I tap Log In, and even Sign Up, it did nothing. I can see the buttons responding to my presses (I even got others to try tapping).

I force killed the app (double tap & swipe up), which did not fix it.

Going to the home screen, and coming back to the app, it started trying to load all the log in screens for the number of presses I tried (another bug).

So, to be able to Log into spotify for the first time on my new phone, I had to:

  1. Open Spotify, tap log in
  2. Tap home button, and go back to spotify
  3. This loaded the login page, but no content.
  4. Tap home button, and go back to spotify
  5. Tap the log in with facebook button (thats how I do it).
  6. It then worked.

I have since tried logging out, and back in, and it worked as I expected.

 

One thing I noticed on testing logging out and back in, I had different options for Facebook auth. So a factor might be that when I was trying to log into Spotify my other apps had not all yet downloaded.
