MacBook doesn't show up on device list

Maybe this just isn't supported (in which case, it really should be) but I was trying to play music from the iOS app through my computer speakers, but couldn't find my MacBook on the device list. I have version 9.10.14.g578d350b, and OSX 10.9.2, and no firewall as far as I know.

Spotify Connect hasn't yet been added into the desktop clients I'm afraid. However, you might be able to use Airplay between apple devices.

At the moment, i believe you can't stream music from the iPhone to the computer. Neither from Spotify or AirPlay can do it.

AirPlay only works with AirPlay Speakers, which are connected to your Wireless Network and detected by Apple Devices for doing so.

The Spotify app also doesn't have a "remote control" feature to allow you to play music through your computer and control playback from the phone. In other words, it's not able to work like Apple's Remote App and iTunes do.
