My Issue

My problem is that I cannot listen to my local files on my iPhone, as they won't sync whatever I do. I've been browsing the forums about anything to help with this and the two solutions I see the most of are to turn on a switch that says "Mark for Online Sync" or something close to that but on my playlists, no such switch exists on my iPhone or computer. The other thing, "Enable Desktop Sync", is supposed to be in my settings under "Local Files", but nothing is there besides a switch to enable or disable local files, which I have enabled. Really confused on this one, no one else seems to be having my issue.

Downloading the local files playlist so that the songs play offline works-- you don't need to download them manually on your phone. "Enable Desktop Sync" didn't pop up for me no matter what, so I made sure the toggle on "Local Network" was on in iOS settings, closed and reopened Spotify, and-- at that point there was no "enable sync" option and my local files were still "darkened" on my playlist like I didn't have access to them-- hit download offline. Somehow that made all the local files "light," saved the files on my mobile "Local Files" folder on Spotify, and works completely fine.

All. The extra step on the iPhone is that you need to do all this AND go into iPhone > Settings > Spotify > 'ALLOW SPOTIFY TO ACCESS' > Local Network (check on). Then syncing works.

I've finally figured it out with a bit of playing around with advice from multiple sources, but it is a bit tedious. You'll first do the download on your desktop of course; following the basic directions of converting to mp3, dragging to mp3Tag and add artist, title and cover. And then in your files tab on your desktop you'll create a new folder specifically for your downloads(you'll want to drag this folder into your OneDrive). Once that has been done, go back to mp3 Tag and in the top left, click file, change directory, and click your designated music folder. Now on your phone, download OneDrive. Open the app and your music folder should pop up there. You will also need Files app. Now in OneDrive, click the 3 dots that pop up next to your download. There should be an option to open in another app. Click that and save to Files app(if you don't have it, you can simply download in app store). Make sure to create a new folder in the Spotify file, in the File app, so you can save the download there. Once it is saved, it should pop up in your local files folder on Spotify. I hope this wasn't as confusing as it sounds. Feel free to ask any questions about the steps if they are too confusing. This was the only method that I found worked to download these songs on my PC and my phone that also showed the cover art.
