Music I want won't play for my iPhone

Hi everyone, 

So I just got the computer program as well as the mobile app, and I just have a free account as of now. My computer program works great, but my phone is a different story. Whenever I try and tap a song to play, nothing happens. Instead it tells me to use the Shuffle Play. But when I use that, it's all recommended songs instead of my playlist. Whenever I try and play songs I look up or just tap on, nothing happens. Can I play what I want with a free account? And how do I play just what I want instead of what's recommended?
