Music in car via lightning connection

Hello,

I'd like to know if there is any way to allow my vehicle to control and play music with a wired connection. I've attempted this already and it seems that because Spotify encrypts and hides the audio files my car shows a message that the device has no content to be played. I want to do this so that I can see the artwork on my infotainment screen and because I prefer not to have my phone out to control music via Bluetooth. I imagine there is also improved audio quality with a wired connection.
