I am experiencing issues with Spotify app on my iPhone 11 (software version 14.7.1) where song will not play or start playing and stop after some time (anywhere between a second to 10 seconds). All songs are downloaded onto my device. This is happening while playing music from my phone but also when connected to headphones (Bluetooth and standard cable). I have tried the following but neither seems to help:
I should mention that this is happening in both online and offline mode. The problem started while adding songs to my “liked” section with an error occurring due to lack of storage on my device. This comes as a surprise as there is currently over 3GB free space on my phone (information from both iPhone setting section and Spotify storage section). I have used the app before having almost no storage left at all and while I could not download songs there has never been any problems with playing those already available on my device. This issue comes out of blue as no updates to either Spotify app or iPhone software we’re installed recently and so I don’t think it’s an update issue. (All apps up to date)
Please let me know what else to do because as of now the issue is extremely annoying with no music during my work commute (I have to listen to people talk!!!!!)
Thanks in advance,
Jakub
Hey @j_town_bun,
Thanks for posting here 🙂
Could you try with another account on the same device to check if that changes anything? That way we can see if this is a device or an account-related issue.
In case you're using any battery optimization or power saving apps, you can deactivate them for Spotify to see if that helps.
Keep us posted.
I'm having the same issue -- I don't have another account on spotify so I'm not sure what to do to troubleshoot next.
Hi there @petruchi41,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community.
Can you confirm if you've already tried running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps? This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.
Additionally, let us know if that's happening with your downloaded songs while online, offline or both.
Lastly, let us know the make, model and OS version of the device where you're having this issue, along with the Spotify version you're running.
Keep us posted.
I am having a similar problem and yes I have tried all the mentioned solutions .
Hey @Gift3,
Thanks for joining the thread!
As some time has passed since this thread was created, it would be very helpful if you could explain what issue you're experiencing so that we can see if it's connected to the one described here. The more details you share, the better. Let us know for example if the music starts playing, but shortly after it stops, if you're streaming to another device, if Spotify is in Offline Mode etc.
It would also help us a lot if you could share the exact troubleshooting steps that you've performed so far, so that we can avoid suggesting the same ones.
Lastly, include the device(s) this is happening on, OS version(s) and in case you noticed if the behavior occurred after something specific for the first time.
We'll be on the lookout.
Similar problem. iPhone 11 iOS 18 I have deleted and reinstalled Spotify, cleared my cache twice Infact but I can’t play my fowls loads offline for whatever reason it’s extremely frustrating
iOS 18 and I have cleared my cache reinstalled the app twice with the same issue over and over again
Hey @Gift3,
Thanks for your reply and the info. We've merged your comment from the other thread you posted in here so we can better keep track of all relevant info.
In addition to the above description, can you let us know what happens when you try to play your downloaded songs? Are you seeing any error messages? Feel free to include a few screenshots or a short video of how things look on your end.
Also, make sure to check out this article with some more useful troubleshooting steps to try in the meantime.
Keep us posted.
