My phone is not allowing me to skip ads. Why???

Usually after five seconds of listening to an ad on my phone I can skip the ad but recently my phone has not allowing me to skip these ads. I listened to five ads in a row without skipping it was painful.

I wanted to let you know that it's no longer possible to skip ads on Spotify Free. This change was part of a test in selected markets.

We're always testing possible improvements and new features, so you might see something on the app that other users don't, or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period and take your feedback.

I’ve had the same thing. Not been fun. I’ve found that you can quit the app and reopen to skip to the start of your next song on IOS. The good free experience has been the only thing stopping me moving from Spotify to Apple Music until now, so if this becomes permanent it looks like I might have to start paying for that 😞
