Pending Message on iPod Touch 5th Gen

I'm in the final stages of using Spotify for all my music, and I'm trying to sync my local files to my iPod. I connect my iPod to my laptop's Spotify app, sync all the songs no problem, but when all the songs have transferred the Local Files playlist on the "sync music" menu says pending. It's a total of 750 or so songs, so I'd expect it to take a while to finish up, but it's been an hour now - twice as long as it took to sync in the first place. The songs all show up as available offline on my iPod's Spotify app, but when I go out of the house and disconnect from the wifi (tried this a few hours ago, I'm in the midst of my second attempt), those all disappear. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
