Playing only the songs in a playlist (and not 'jump' to radio)

Solved!

Playing only the songs in a playlist (and not 'jump' to radio)

I have an iPhone with latest OS and Spotify software.  I have a Premium subscription for Spotify.  I have a playlist defined in "My Library" containing 20 songs.

Problem:  I select the playlist from "My Library" and press "Shuffle Play". It seems to, indeed, play the songs in that playlist in random order, but after a while a *new* song starts playing that is *not* in my playlist.

Why? And how do I make it play exclusively just the songs in the playlist and nothing else?

Note: I have not selected "Start Playlist Radio".  I did exactly what I said above, but it seems that after a while (perhaps after it's gone through all the songs in the playlist), it starts playing the radio version.

To understand why this matters:  The songs in my playlist I've carefully selected to help my infant daughter sleep better (lullabies). When the radio thing kicks in, it adds songs that can't really be called lullabies and have a different tempo and structure, and often times are waking the baby.

I don't know whether this is a Spotify-on-iOS-only problem.  I just started a test on an Android device to check if the same behavior occurs.

Anyone encountered this issue, or know a way to "fix" it?

Hey @borice! Welcome to the community!

That's no fun! Let's take a look. Is 'Autoplay' turned on in 'Settings (Spotify) > Playback > AutoPlay.' It sounds like that might be it. Let me know how it goes.

Take care! 🙂

Thank you very much.  That was exactly the setting controlling that behavior.
