My Question or Issue

I don't know if this UI is being A/B tested or if it's a new UI that's being slowly rolled out, but I can't stand it. The playlist title no longer shows up at the top in song/now playing view so you can no longer navigate directly to the playlist the current song is playing from. I truly don't understand why UX designers/developers remove functionality, but it's degraded the UX of the iOS app for me. Signing out, then signing back in will revert it to the old layout for a hot second, but then it always changes back to the new UI.

If there is a different way to get to the playlist from the song view, I would absolutely love to know.

Hi @unfinishedidea ,

Thanks for your question; I've gone ahead and checked my own device and only see the original display, which is the one you like. However, I can see in both of your imagers that there is a "Play Queue" icon that you can click on. By selecting that icon, you will be taken to the queue that that song is playing from and you will be able to see the songs that are remaining in the playlist and select the order in which you want them to play. You'll notice that the songs from the top of this list that you already heard will be missing, BUT you'll see the name of the playlist at the top of the window; you can click that and be taken directly to the playlist.

To address the other part of your question, I am unsure if there is a beta test or not but will surely come back with an answer if I am able to find one.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! Thanks for listening!

Hi again @unfinishedidea,

Just following up and wanted to confirm that you are indeed experiencing a feature test but your display should revert to what you're used to soon. Spotify on occasion runs these tests in search of feedback and improvements; Here is a link that explains it a little more.

I have mentioned to my team that the playlist banner is missed in this feature test and that I also find it important to have it available for ease of navigation and the feedback is being noted.

Hope this helps!

Hi Jake,

Thanks for the workaround suggestion; I confirmed that it works with the test layout. Do you know approximately how long tests usually lasts? It's already been a few months.

Yes please, i am still having the same issue on my iphone 14 pro max

Hey @s_a231911

This is currently an issue in the Spotify iOS app version 8.8.26

This should be fixed in a future app update
