Podcast loses position when I change audio output

When I resume playing a podcost and connect to a bluetooth deviuce or stream to my xbox one, the podcast starts all over and loses my position. If I play back to the same audio output I used last time, it keeps it. Anyone else have this or a fix? Looks like it's a bug...

Hey @rickprokosch,

That's annoying, so we can get this fixed quicker, let's get some more info!

  • What device are you using to stream the Podcasts? (Not the devices you're connecting to)
  • What version of Spotify are you using?
  • What OS are you using? (eg. iOS 11, Windows 10, Ubuntu,  etc.)
  • Does this happen with songs as well or just the Podcasts?

If you have any other details you can provide, let me know, in the meantime I'll see what I can find and let you know!

Best,

Jordan

Here is some more info for you, thanks for asking!

  1. I am using an iPhone 6s to start the stream
  2. Spotify app on the iPhone is verson 8.4.37.704
  3. iOS version 11.2.2 (15C202)
  4. I have not noticed it happening with songs and I just tried. I started it playing on the phone, connected to a bluetooth speaker, found the playlist, started another song, then tapped on the song I had been playing before and it started from the beginning. I would expect that though.
  5. I tried re-creating the problem just now but can't seem to with the podcast. I'll know more when I can access my xbox one and stream to that or am in my car and can try the aux. I'll reply again once I know more. thanks!

Hey @rickprokosch,

Thanks for the details! I'll pass them on to the right people so a fix can be found for you!

Is there a fix still coming for this? I've had it for months now and it's incredibly frustrating.
