I am having the same problem. When I try to listen to a song it tells me something about my premium account?

Sorry that might be a little confusing. When I log on spotify I am able to search and everything but when I try to listen to the song, it tells me my premium account is not set up. Do I need to purchase something? I have friends that haven't bought anything and are able to listen to songs...

Hey Megcon, welcome to the Community.

To stream music on a mobile device (I think this is what you're talking about) you'll need a Premium account.

Your friends might have been on a free trial, which we do offer in some cases. Looking at your account I can see you were on the 48 hour free trial back in October, maybe you didn't notice.
