Artist and album name of a song grayed out. What it means?

I'm having the same trouble: I uploaded new local files so that I could listen to my favorite song, which is not available on Spotify. Everything synched fine -- except the one song I wanted.

I closed out. I rebooted. I made available offline. I tried WiFi; I tried a cable. I deleted and tried again. Still no go. "17 out of 18 songs" synched."

The single song I want remains the one song I can see but can't play. It just sits there on my iPhone playlist -- but in all gray and won't play.

I don't care that Spotify can't match that artist title (see user above). That's exactly why I had to upload this as a local file in the first place -- 'cause Spotify doesn't have it.
