Scant select a track on my playlist on Spotify iPhone

Hi there

on my iPhone Spotify I can't select and play a tract on my playlists. The only option to play is shuffle. VERY ANNOYING. This includes suggested albums on Discovery where I want to listen to selected tracks to decide whether to add to play list.

This is not happening on my Spotify on my iPad. I have removed and reloaded the app on iPhone still the same problem.

please explain or help fix this

Welcome to the Spotify Community! 

To solve your problem you need a Spotify Premium subscription to be able to play any song without shuffling on your iPhone, however you do not need a subscription to play songs without shuffling on iPad or PC/MAC.

Spotify premium has many great features such as ad-free listening, downloading songs for offline listening and much more!

NOT acceptable. It is the "free" version of Spotify. The "price" we pay for the free version is constant interruption by ads and Premium hard sell ads (with a louder volume). So what on earth is the justification for the difference between what is possible on the iPhone vs the iPad, Mac etc  basically I won't be bullied into Premium so I guess I just won't use Spotify on the phone.
