Should the Mobile App "Local Files" reflect the Desktop "Local Files" ?

Should the Mobile App "Local Files" reflect the Desktop "Local Files" ?

I am new to Spotify.  One of the things that attracted me to Spotify, is the access to your music everywhere.  I have an 8G iPhone, and want to be able to stream my music collection anywhere.  Audiogalaxy affords me this ability, but I need to keep my computer on.

I was on the impression that the mobile "Local Files" should reflect the "Local Files" on computer client.  But it is empty.  The guide talks about syncing a playlist of my collection, but I don't have the capacity in my iPhone.  In fact, when I tried to include my collection in a playlist, it complains of too many tracks for a playlist.

Anyhelp and clarification is greatly appreciated.

Spotify is not able to stream tracks from your computer at present. We have had people suggest a Cloud based storage system for local files, but this isn't something we have at the moment.

Any local files you would like to have on your phone will need to be synced directly to your device.
