Skipping and choosing songs

My Spotify won't let me choose which song I want, I click on it but it automatically shuffles and puts another song on. Also I can only skip up to 6 songs before a notification comes up telling me I can't go any further. Can someone tell me how to fix this, because it doesn't come up on my laptop
