Songs Stopping

After years of postive experience i am now experiencing consistent issues with my Spotify Premium account across all of my devices.

 

1) It started with the performance of my Spotify playlists vis SONOS player at home.  Songs would play for 30 seconds (id get an error message about loss of connection and it would skip to next song).  Checked WiFI all was working fine.  And all the other music applicaitons on SONOS were performing without glitches.

 

2) On my IPAD Songs stop (either at end of song or in the middle) and i need to hit play again.  Happens repeatedly.

 

3) Same thing is now happening on my Laptop.

 

I checked my account to make sure Credit Card was correct and billing up to date.  I reset password to make sure no one had hacked into my account and was logging on elsewhere.  

 

What's going on?  What else should i be checking?

Hi! Welcome to the Spotify Community! Sorry you're experiencing this problem.

 

Is your music quality on normal settings?  Extreme settings require three times as much data.

 

How to change on mac:

 

  • Click Spotify in the menu bar.
  • Select Preferences.
    Mac Preferences
  • Under Playback select High quality streaming.
    Playback options

Windows:

 

  • Click Edit in the menu bar.
  • Select Preferences.

iPhone:

 

  • Tap the menu iOS menu button button.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap Music Quality.
  • Select Normal, High or Extreme.

iPad:

 

  • Tap the Settings Settings iPad button.
  • Scroll down and tap stream.
  • Select Normal, High or Extreme.

Android:

 

  • Tap the menu User-added image button.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Under Music Quality, select Normal, High or Extreme.

No the setting is on normal.  The fact that this is impacting three devices in different locations suggests the issue somehow lies at the source?
