Songs in my playlist are being replaced without my consent.
I have previously reported this issue via twitter but the tech team had little to nothing to add.
All my playlists are affected.
as an example.
Dance with the **bleep** - breaking benjamin is replaced by one from Gucci Mane.
100s of songs are affected, with a long list of songs it's hard to keep track.
I believe there is no identifier for a song, songs are searched by name instead of the artist.
Or
Spotify does not want to inform if they lost the license to a song and just blindly replace the song with another one of the same title.
This is very disappointing.
I have previously reported in June 2022 but got lackluster support where the support executive had no clue, and did. not follow up.
I was given an option to restore my playlist from a backup, but that did not happen even after consent.
Hi @arunkr!
Could you share the URL of the playlist so we can have a look? Just right-click on it (long press if you're on mobile) > Share > Copy link to playlist.
In case you notice other strange behavior with your account, it's recommended you follow the steps in this article.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply. Cheers!

some songs that appeared without my consent or action.
Home with you - Madison Beer
Dance to This - Ariana Grande
Problems - lil Peep
Dance With the **vil** - Gucci Mane.
This is not the first time this has been observed.
Hey @arunkr,
Thank you for the info!
We can see in the playlist description that you've created the playlist via Tune My Music.
I believe they had an auto-sync feature which you may have enabled.
(It keeps playlists updated automatically, so something might have gone wrong there)
Would you mind checking how the source playlist looks?
We'll be on the lookout for your response 🙂
The source playlist no longer exists.
This is a playlist moved from google music using tune my music. Now defunct.
I have also not used or updated anything in YT Music.
with my previous interaction with support, I logged Spotify out of all devices and logged in again.
anything more that I could help you with?
Hey @arunkr,
Thanks for getting back to us.
We'd also recommend removing any third party access to your account and creating copies of your playlists to see if they get modified as well. If yes, please reach out to the folks over at Customer Support and give them a list of all your devices so they can double check for any unauthorized access to your account.
We hope this helps.
Take care,
