Songs from saved albums are not showing up in "songs"

Hi there! Hope someone could help me figure this one out. I'm showing my dad how to use his spotify account, and I discovered that for some reason when he saves an album to his library the songs from that album aren't added to the "songs" section of the library. As well, no artists appear in the "artists" section of his library, however he has multiple albums from singular artists saved. Any ideas on what's going on? Thanks!
