Songs won't play after IOS 7.1 update

Since installing the newest iOS update on my iPhone 5 the Spotify app has stopped working.  It will start playing a song and then stop a few seconds later.  Trying to start another song sometimes works but then it stops a few seconds in as well.  I haven't been able to play a full track on my phone since updating.  Very frustrating.

The iOS version is 7.1(11D167)

I've tried restarting the phone, but that didn't help.

Could you try reinstalling spotify to see if that helps.
