As soon as I open the drop down menu and press any button from the selection , for example add song to playlist, the app just crashes.

Could you first try a clean reinstall of the Spotify app? If this doesn't work, we can try a few other things.

Could you let me know what your platform and OS versions are? Also, could you double check the exact Spotify version you're running and let me know what that is?

My iOS version is 10.3.1 and my spotify version is 8.4.0.623 Currently
using an ipad pro

Thanks for the information! I've escalated this issue to the Spotify team and I'll let you know here as soon as I hear back from them.
Could you let me know the following?
- Can you try a soft reset for me? You can do this by holding the Sleep/Wake + Volume Down buttons for 10 seconds.
- Does this happen when connected to WiFi, using mobile data or both?
- Does this happen in Landscape or Portrait view?
- (if WiFi) Can you reset your router?
- Do you have any Local Files?
