I've been having this problem for months. On Iphone 14pro with latest iOS, I try to connect to my speaker via Airplay in Spotify Connect window on the app. I click the speaker, and then it shows that it's connected, and the music on the app shows that it's playing (the song timer is counting down), but no sound is coming out of the speaker.
My airplay works to this speaker on every other music. It's only Spotify Connect that's having this problem. It's absolutely maddening.
Spotify 8.9.16.556
iOS 17.3.1
Speaker: Audio Pro c10 mkII
Thanks for confirming @b6c7-4i5y_sbl.
Our tech folks will investigate further. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have any news to share 👍
The Community is always here if there's anything else we can assist with in the meantime.
Any news on this?
Again, AirPlay works with other music services but not with spotify.
This needs to be addressed before it’s time to switch service to one that fully supports AirPlay 2.0
Hello, have you been able to replicate the problem or do you need any more input to solve this?
Same here, exactly as descibed. Always with my libratone zipp mini and sometimes homepod mini. All other apps stream the sound wihtout issues, with spotify it connects to the speaker, you can see the time running on the iphones, the speaker shows you it is playing (light on the zipp mini), but the sound does not play. We use several devices like Mcbook pro, iphones 12pro, 13 and 15pro (IOS18 and spotify 8.9.82.628) all have the same issue.
Any solution on this?!?! STILL having the same problem. So frustrating.
same here, Spotify only app not working with airplay; disappointing
Is there STILL no solution to this? As requested, I took a video to show exactly what the problem is. The video exceeds the size limit, so the video can be viewed here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/kdp6beakhhbnqpjn8kama/IMG_3349.mov?rlkey=2ierke94a7jrv5roz6vfn8q95&st...
To reiterate, Airplay works with my speaker perfectly for every other app, but it doesn't work with Spotify. As shown in video, Spotify Connect shows that it's connected to my speaker by Airplay, the music timer shows that music is playing, but no sound is playing at all. PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE STATUS OF THIS FIX ASAP. It's imperative to be able to use Airplay to connect to my speaker instead of WiFi, as Airplay allows you to control the volume by using the buttons on the side of the phone, whereas Spotify's newest releases don't allows you to use the physical phone buttons to control the speaker volume while connected via WiFi. This is a critical feature, and it's unacceptable not to have it. On the verge of cancelling Spotify if this can't get resolved soon.
Spotify Version 9.0.2.419
iOS 18.1.1
Already tried uninstalling the app numerous times, doing a full clean delete and reinstall, and nothing works.
What is the update on this?? See my latest post for a video showing the problem
Going with apple music now until this is fixed (which apparently won’t happen). No problems at all!
Yea, I'm ready to leave Spotify too if this isn't fixed in short order.
Just downloaded Tidal for a free 30-day trial. Airplay works perfectly...
It's incredibly frustrating that Spotify isn't even acknowledging this issue after I posted a video showing the problem.
Trying again to get someone to respond to this!!!!!
Posting again, since I updated Spotify to the newest version, and this problem persists.
