Spotify Connect - need premium subscription?

Hi all - beginners’ question. I want to use Spotify Connect on my Ruark R3s, which is equipped for this. It worked for about a hour with my free Spotify subscription, but now, when I try and select the device in the Spotify App on my iPhone, it says “Ruark R3 - premium required”. Is that normal? Why would it first work with the free subscription? Many thanks!

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

 

We can confirm that you should be able to use your speakers with the free service. 

 

In this case, could you give a different internet connection a go to see if the same happens? 

 

If so, we suggest that you try logging out and then logging back in to your account on your account twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between your device and your account. 

 

Lastly, we suggest that you check if the OS of your iPhone has any pending updates.
