Spotify Playback Stops When Opening Jack in the Box Menu App

Hello Spotify Community,


I’m experiencing an issue where my songs stop playing on Spotify whenever I open the Jack in the Box menu app. This problem is quite frustrating as I enjoy listening to music while checking the Jack in The Box Menu.




  • Device: [iPhone 12]
  • Operating System: [ iOS 15]
  • Spotify Version: [8.6.60]
  • Jack in the Box Menu App Version: [2.3.1]


Steps to Reproduce:


  • Open Spotify and start playing a song.
  • Minimize Spotify and open the Jack in the Box menu app.
  • Observe that the music stops playing as soon as the app is opened.

I’ve tried restarting both apps, clearing the cache, and even reinstalling Spotify, but the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. 


We'd first recommend making sure that Spotify has the right permissions on your iPhone to operate in the background. 


If this doesn't do the trick, it's possible that the Jack in the Box Menu app is restricting Spotify from playing. In that case, we can't commit to a timeline for it to be fixed, but we'd suggest keeping both apps updated so you don't miss out on any developments.
