Spotify Plays Songs or Podcasts at Double Speed

Issue Description:

While playing songs or podcasts on Spotify, a sporadic issue occurs where playback suddenly speeds up for several seconds, as if fast-forwarding. This happens regardless of the playlist or content and can occur multiple times depending on the length of the track.

Affected Hardware and Software:

    Smartphone: iPhone 13 mini

    iOS Version: 18.3.2

    Spotify Version: 9.0.28.607

    Car: Seat Ibiza (First registered in 2015)

    Playback Method: Bluetooth connection

When Did the Issue First Occur?

The problem was first noticed on Monday. Before that, playback via Bluetooth worked without any issues.

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken:

    Reset Bluetooth Pairing Completely:

        Deleted the connection between the iPhone and the car.

        Disabled Bluetooth on both the phone and the car and then re-paired the devices.

    Restarted the Smartphone:

        Completely turned off and restarted the phone.

    Cleared Spotify Cache:

        Went to Spotify settings under "Storage" and cleared the cache.

    Reinstalled Spotify:

        Uninstalled the app from the iPhone and reinstalled it from the App Store.
