Spotify app using 1.1GB of storage on iPhone but i have 0 playlists set for offline mode

Under Settings > General > Usage it says Spotify is using 1.1GB of storage but I have not set any playlists or albums or songs to offline mode and I also have 0 local files.  The app says it is only 30MB in the App store so why is it using up 1.1GB of data?

The app stores the song files on your device to ease the load on Spotify servers and avoid "loading" moments before you start listening to music. If you need this storage space, you can perform a clean reinstallation of the app by following these steps:

- Find Spotify's icon on your home screen and hold it until all icons start shaking;

- Tap the small "X" icon and delete the app;

- Restart your device by holding the power + home buttons until the Apple logo appears;

- Download Spotify on the App Store.

That's a stupid work around.
It shouldn't use up that much storage space to begin with.
