Spotify automatically playing in car

Spotify is automatically 'playing' whenever I connect to the Bluetooth in my car.
It isn't actually playing, unless I'm in the aux mode, so it will be 'playing' unheard from an unopened app.
My husband and I use the same account, so if he is listening at the same time, this interrupts him automatically without me even realising it's playing. I can't even close the app to stop play because I'm not even aware it's happening (until I get an aggravated message from my husband!)

Use Bluetooth only if u need it, I have the same problem. Try to logout en log in. If that doesn't work, I think you have to take contact with Spotify . I hope this helps you cause it helped me!
