Spotify causing media in other apps to pause and rendering siri useless

My issue

I recently switched back to spotify after not using it for years and I immediately began having issues with siri not working and videos in other apps constantly pausing making them unplayable. After days of trying to figure this out, I figured out that spotify was causing this and that the only known fix was to force close the app every time you’re done using it. I have seen several posts about this and no real solution. Is there any way to actually contact support or someone who can actually help? this is extremely frustrating.
