Spotify disconnects from bluetooth when open and changes playlists

My Question or Issue

This issue has been ongoing for maybe 8 months

had car for 4/5 years and never used to happen

when using spotify via Bluetooth if app is left open on screen my phone will connect and disconnect sometimes multiple times and sometimes intermittently 

after a few times doing it will change what i’m listening too to my liked songs playlist

if app is running but not on screen it doesn’t disconnect

also if i try to connect via usb rather than Bluetooth is just quickly  skips songs

Can you check if this happens with a different device? You can ask a friend or a relative to connect to your car to see if they get the same behavior. It's also worth asking them to log in their own account on your phone so that we can check if it's account- or device-related.

We'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app to remove any damaged cache, as well as removing access to any third-party apps you might have connected and signing out from everywhere to check if it still keeps disconnecting afterwards.

There were also some similar reports in the past and it looks like reseting all your iPhone's settings might be worth the shot, since it helped a couple of users.
