Spotify iPhone skipping tracks when plugged in via USB to Ford Fiesta 2014

Hi guys,

I am having trouble with Spotify when I connect it via USB to my 2014 Ford Fiesta.

If I am listening to an album it will skip every other song (so 2, 4, 6 etc).

If I select a song whilst the phone is plugged it will play the next song underneath it instead of the one I selected.

At other times it will play the first 5-10 seconds of a track and then skip to the another, leaving the first song's information on the dash display.

If I'm really unlucky or trying to use shuffle it will skip randomly about 5-10 songs before playing the next song.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I am having the exact same issue with a 2013 ford focus. Have tried everything I can think of but nothing works. Hope a fix can be found to this!

Looks like a compatibility problem.

Something similar happens to me when I'm trying to listen to any song with my old Fidelio Dock.

Exactly same thing Happens to me. Any sign of a fix?

same problem

FYI to my knowledge the issue still remains, I have a bit of a workaround - I bought an Iphone to Dock connector (search Amazon)

This at least lets me play music through the AUX channel at good quality. Downside is I can't charge my phone whilst doing this so for long trips my battery will eventually die or I have to switch back to USB to charge and listen to the radio instead - first world problems lol.

my fiesta has no aux-in socket. So I must use usb.

RIP 😞

Hi, I have the exact same problem. I have Ford Fiesta 2016 and iphone 6s. I'm also premium user of Spotify. Interestingly, if you play song before you plugged-in, that song keeps playing. But when it's finished, the loop is starting again. Does anyone have the same problem? Any solutions?

Yes - same issue as what I was having. Shame that even with a newer Car and Phone the problem still exists.

Good point! Spotify seems to ignore the issue since there are so many cars with Bluetooth. But I think, they need to do something about this problem if the cars will continue to sell with USB. For example when we decided to buy a new Fiesta, there is no option with Bluetooth. So we need to purchase with USB in-socket.
