Spotify is very slow and unresponsive

I use a 5G Ipod touch and and most of the time the app respondes veeeery slow, sometimes not at all. In example when clicking another song. It sucks because when I walk around town i often change songs and it has become a chore. Anyone else having this? Desktop version works fine. I have about 1000 starred offline songs, may that be a reason for it to be slow?

Are you using the latest v1.1 release?

yes, latest version, tried uninstalling, too. Helped for 5 minutes, then the same old.. I can't even pause songs anymore, every click is about 15 seconds delayed.
