Spotify not recognizing my Ipod Nano (7th generation)?

Hi,

I’m trying to sync my Ipod with my Spotify premium account. I have the newest generation Ipod Nano (7th generation) and these are the steps I’m taking to try and sync the two: I’ve started Spotify, connected my ipod via USB cable, and closed ITunes so that it will not interfere. With all of these steps, I’m still not seeing my ipod in the “Devices” menu. What could I be doing wrong? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Unfortunately, there is currently an issue meaning Spotify is not able to connect with iPods with the new lightning connectors, which includes 6/7th generation iPod nanos. 

There is an open bugs topic about it here but there is currently no work around.

Thank you for your post, it was informative. I am curious if there are any efforts currently underway to correct for the issue at hand, being able to connect spotify with the newer generations of ipod nanos. I also was hoping that I could get an estimated time to completion if such efforts are currently underway.

Spotify never release any information about future features or release I'm afraid. I'm not even sure that synching with the desktop client offers any advantage over using itunes since you can only synch music you own anyway.

Just for clarification, the bug here which stops iPod's with the new lightning connectors working with Spotify has been marked as Won't be fixed. I'm afraid it looks like Spotify will not support those devices in the future.
