Spotify on iPad not working behind a proxy but iPhone will

Hello, I am having trouble with spotify on ipad at a school I work at. The iPhone version will happily connect through the proxy server and work where as the iPad, pointing to the same proxy server with the same account, can not access Spotify. It sits at connecting for about a minute then says spotify is offline. Is there a difference within the ipad and iphone versions of the app? or is this a bug. If anyone knows how to report this directly to spotify could they please let me know.
