Hey,
Thanks for reaching out.
Are you're starting the playback on the same device you've used? If yes, can you please check if the playlist sorting settings got reset? If that's the case, we'd recommend making sure that the app's cache is not being removed by any memory- or battery-optimizing services.
Please also send us your device model, OS version and Spotify version along with a couple of videos showing the before/after state of your queue.
Keep us posted.
I’m going to need help finding all this lol
How do I check to see if the cache is getting reset iso v. 17.1.2 iPhone 13 and Spotify v.8.8.92 don’t have videos yet but will send soon. Thank you.
Thanks for the info, @Dalesk!
To check for any memory- and battery-optimizing services on an iPhone, you go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage and for more details you can check out this article from Apple's page (specifically the part Use your device to check its storage).
Keep us posted.
Ok I’ve went there but I still don’t know what I’m looking for. Sorry.
I see Spotify but when I click on it I only have two options offload the app and to delete the app other than that I don’t know what I’m looking for.
Hey @Dalesk,
You can try performing a clean reinstall to see if that does the trick. Could you also confirm if this happens when listening on the same device, or does it occur when switching to another one (like your computer, for example, or an external speaker)?
Keep us posted!
It still does the same thing I shuffles on the lap top and the song that is on my phone wasn’t the same in the laptop I had to choose a song on the laptop.
Hey @Dalesk,
Is it possible that you're logged in to different accounts on your laptop and phone? I recommend checking out this article for more info on how to proceed.
Cheers 🙂
No I’m no I have one email and one password I use for everything.
Thanks for confirming @Dalesk.
In that case it's possible that you're experiencing this ongoing issue. I'd recommend checking it out and subscribing to the thread from the three dots menu so you're notified whenever there are any updates on the matter.
Take care.
Is there going to be an update that fixes this problem soon?
This didn’t fix my problem and I can tell you a little more it plays the songs in the order that I added the songs.
Hi there @Dalesk,
Thanks for keeping in touch.
So we can take a look, send over a screenshot of the Queue when you start listening to your playlist and it's playing in the correct order, and send another screenshot of the Queue when you come back and the playlist starts playing in a different order.
Additionally, have you checked if this also happens from a different device or the Web Player?
We'll be here.
Here is before and after with it playing when I come back to it.
Here is the screenshots when it’s working like it’s supposed to it should be the baby and the back around
Hey @Dalesk,
Thank you for keeping in contact.
The screenshots you sent were showing the liked songs list and the Now Playing View, but to have a better look at what could be affecting the playback order, it would be great if you could send a screenshot of your Play queue so we can see the upcoming tracks.
Also, could you check if activating the Shuffle button and turning it off again makes any difference in the playback behavior?
Lastly, and if possible, could you record a short video showing the playback behavior you've mentioned? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout.
Ok I see why it’s not playing in order bc my queue how do I get my queue in alphabetical order.
Thanks for the response, @Dalesk.
Could you confirm if the songs in the Play Queue appear in alphabetical order or not? If you've set the playlist order to Alphabetical, then the Play Queue should be in the same order.
Would you mind sending us a screenshot or a video so we can take a look?
On another note, let us know if activating the Shuffle button and turning it off again makes any difference in the playback behavior.
Hope to hear from you soon 🙂
