Spotify won't play in the background using an iPhone 7 plus

With the dongle attached, music stops playing when I press the home button.  This is especially important, as I teach fitness classes.  So I need the music to keep playing while I access tabata timers in other apps, etc.  It's also just kind of annoying not to be able to use any other apps while listening to music.  If anyone knows how to remedy this, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi there @SuperSexMachine,

Some users who went through this issue presented a couple of workarounds for this.

- Open up Spotify

- Hold down the Power button until it says  "Slide to Power Off"

- Release Power button and hold down the home button until the app restarts.

- Reopen Spotify.

Another suggestion:

- start playing your music like ususal.

- hit your power button once, this will lock your screen and obviously stop the music

- hit your home button once while screen locked (if you have a 6s your fingerprint sensor will unlock your screen, so dont let it unlock your screen). Your control panel (whilie locked screen) should pop up - press your play button, and it should let Spotify play your music while locked.

Please let me know if any of them works for you!
