My Question or Issue:
Suddenly I can no longer cast Spotify to any of my Google Devices.
I have tried...
- Google Home-Mini x2
- Google Hub
- Casting from Spotify iOS app
- Casting with voice from one of the above google devices
- Casting from macOS Spotify App (Google Devices beep and then nothing happens)
- Reseting my Spotify link in Google Home (no reboot)
- Reseting my Spotify link in Google Home (WITH reboot)
- Setting my Google devices to connect to another network
- Ensuring I have internet... YouTube casting to same devices works fine.
- Tried playing random song
- Tried playing personal playlist
- Tried playing someone else's playlist
Eg. I say:
"Hey Google, play my playlist `Good` "
Google Says:
"Got it, here is your Spotify playlist "Good"
then after about 10 seconds...
"Sorry, something went wrong. When you're ready, give it another try."
Same issue. Tried unlinking and re-linking accounts, closing everything down, rebooting Google home. It’s happening on all our devices in our Google home network. I can connect my phone or tablet to the device via Bluetooth and play music but google cannot access Spotify directly either via voice command or through the Spotify app and choosing a speaker/display.

Can you have someone log in with their account - such as a friend or a family member to see if the issue persists?
We also suggest that you restart your router to see if that makes any changes.

I am having the exact same problem with a new Google Home device. I can tell it to play something on Spotify, even a particular personal playlist, and it recognizes it, but then says "Something went wrong...". It also doesn't show up when trying to Chromecast from the Spotify app.
I have tried pairing with two different devices, two different Spotify accounts, and nothing.
Any solutions?

Have you tried connecting your devices to another network like a mobile hotspot, and check if you get the same results?

Suddenly today, after three days of not working, without having touched or reconfigured anything, it worked. Very strange, but a happy ending (for now).
