Using Discover with music available on my iPod touch

I've been playing imported local music, as in music files synced to my iPod touch thru iTunes, then imported to Spotify in-app. Will I get Discover recommendations by doing so or will I have to listen to Spotify's streaming service in order to get recommendations?

Looks like it worked. Discover's working for me now, but for some reason my shoegazey tendencies haven't been picked up by it. I've got P!nk and Shakira in my discovery box :C
