Video podcasts not finishing

When I play a video podcast and leave the app, if I ever re-enter the app the podcast shuts off, is marked as played, and disappears. Then the next podcast plays.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. 

Could you let us know if this happens across devices or only on a specific one? We'd also like to know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update either of Spotify or the OS of your device? Also, does this happen with all podcasts that contain video or only with a specific one? 

If this only happens on a specific device, it's well worth running a clean reinstall of the app to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. 

Also, would you mind checking if the OS of your affected device(s) has any pending updates?

My Question or Issue

I've noticed recently int he last few weeks that some podcasts are disappearing from my unplayed episodes and being marked as finished. I couldn't quite pin it down because it wasn't all the time.

But today I was listening to Louis Theroux's episode with Sharon Horgan and about half way through there's a "break" in the episode where the intro music plays. I assume this is for ads to be inserted. But what happened is the next podcast started playing and then Louis Theroux episode had been marked as finished.

When I unmarked it as finished, I also noticed that he auto-generated transcript was no longer there.

So, I wonder if the interstitial music is tricking something into thinking the episode has finished.

This has happened several times now over a few different podcasts so there is definitely an issue there.
