Why are my podcasts suddenly cutting off? (iPhone 14)

Hi! I'm trying to listen to my podcasts as I do every day and I'm suddenly running into an issue where, once clicked on, the podcasts length is significantly cut down. In this case I'm trying to listen to a 24 minute episode and it only gives me 10 minutes of the podcast before it cuts off and moves to the next episode, where it happens all over again.
I've already done a clean restart on the app, deleted it, turned my phone off and on, and logged out and back in and it's still happening.
Does anyone have any insight into why this is going on and what I can do to fix it?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.

 

That's an odd behavior. In order to continue investigating this case, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.

 

If the issue persists, it would also be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device (it could be the same friend or family member) to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be account-related or not.


Lastly and if persistent, include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

Iโ€™m having the same problem.  It just cut off Morning Wire 5 minutes before the end.  Switched to another if my podcasts and will cut that short.  This happens with my Iphone 16 ProMax.  This id a Spotify issue.  I assume podcasts are being shorted on earnings since they pay better if listeners stay connected all the way through.

The episodes in Podcasts should be playing all the way to the end. Some Podcasts might include ads, but the playback should be resumed after that. Now, I understand the playback is not working correctly on your side, so we can check how to resolve it. 

 

First, we recommend that you follow the steps mentioned by @OscarDC and let us know if that helps. We also recommend that you check if this happens when connected to a different network. Check if it happens both with Wi-Fi and mobile data.
