Why can't I search from any page?

I'm frequently browsing music and listening and checking I get an idea and so want to search . . . and I can't! 

I have to hit "Back" ten times to get to a page that has search on it.  Am I missing something?   This seems like an obvious feature to have, so maybe I'm just missing it.  If not, there should be a little magnifying glass button on every page.

If you touch, hold and drag to the "<" to the right it will take you all the way back to the search menu. Hope this helps. 😄
