Won't connect / log in on iPad mini

Hello.

I am a long time spotify user. Been running fine on a PC, iPad2, iPad Mini and Android until today.

The iPad mini app would not connect to the service and insisted I had not Internet connection when I actually did have an Internet connection.

I uninstalled, rebooted the iPad and reinstalled as other posts have suggested.

Now, the app just hangs at login. It won't go past the scrolling album covers splash screen thing.

I am using a spotify account, not Facebook.

Any advise would be appreciated.
