**bleep** spotify –– local music unavailable

i've been trying to figure out why local tracks are not available on my phone, even though they are available on the desktop app. It is unresolved, and judging by all the unresolved posts I've found dating as far back as 2014, it won't be resolved. If you value your local tracks, and want to play them in things like playlists, don't pay for spotify –– it won't work. If you want to have all your music on some cloud and spotify has all of it, go for it. otherwise, your library will only be available insofar as it is available on spotify's servers. so **bleep** that.

I have 

1. no firewalls up

2. clean reinstalled spotify to no effect

3. followed all spotify's troubleshooting suggestions I could find

4. given up
