controlling the app from different wifi (dont want to be able to)

My Question or Issue

at my home wifi i have several sonos devices. At work: 'work WiFi' and no sonos's. Last Friday at work, I started listening to some music with the spotify app through my iPhone speaker. At one point I noticed my home sonos devices were available. Selected them and started streaming. At home my wife was surprised, the speakers were suddenly playing! Few months ago, this same thing in the middle of the night: my teenage son played some music in his friends house, 10 kilometers away.

At this moment, at work: none of my home wifi devices are available.    Why are speakers available, which 'by settings in the sonos app' should not be available?
