My Question or Issue

when I am playing a playlist the queue suddenly keeps starting from the beginning. I don’t have shuffle on and I am on Wi-Fi and casting to my tv using a chromecast.

Hey there folks,

 

Our tech folks have worked their magic backstage and this issue should now be fixed 🙂

 

In order to have the fix pushed on your device, we'd need you to restart the app a few times. 

 

As a workaround we can also suggest that you start the playback on the phone then pick a device to play on Connect. Once it plays on the speaker you close the app on the phone - the playlist will continue to play on the speaker.

 

We're always working on improving your experience. Make sure to that you keep the app up to date with the latest version, so that you don't miss out on any fixes.

This is happening on my phone. I tried those steps and the same thing is still happening to the playlist every time the app refreshes. 

It is now fixed after recent update!! Thank you spotify!! 

Hi Spotify, the problem came back once i updated to version 9.0.10. This is getting frustrating. I am paying premium for this. I expected better from you and you disappoint me. Please fix this problem. Thank you.

Hello!

I still have this problem. Android app, version 9.1.16.1450, the worst case of resetting happens when I use bluetooth connection to my car, or when switching playlist progress to Windows app. This is really bothering me to the point of me switching to another app, REALLY ANNOYING! PLEASE fix this or I will consider cancelling my subscription...

  • Your device model, OS version and Spotify version.
  • The exact steps to reproduce the issue (so our tech folks can check this on their end).

Device is Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro, Anroid 16.

This most annoyingly happens when starting Spotify in car via its own protocol, through Waze, or by hand through the app icon. Sometimes the app shows that no song was playing (but 5-10 mins ago there was a song playing in another playlist, radio list or in the favs), and then it jumps back to the first song on the Favs and the previous queue is lost.

Sometimes it goes like this: the app remembers the last song and the queue, it continues automatically, but after finishing the song, playback jumps to the first song from the favs, queue is lost again.

Similar thing happens when I choose a song in the android app, then select a Windows app.
