Why are songs getting cut off before they finish?

When playing an album or Spotify playlist on iPhone or MacBook, songs never finish but are cut short by a few seconds each time. Very annoying!

Favourite songs list missing 900 songs but only on iphone

I've noticed that the list shrunk significantly (from 1200 to 300 songs). I can see the full list on the PC application, but on the iPhone app the Favourite songs list only contains 300 songs.
