iOS App pauses and maximizes volume - web player conflict

I'm on iOS11 / iPhone 6s, have Spotify premium. Every few hours or so (no clear cause or timing frequency) my music pauses and when I open my phone / go to Spotify it has a pop-up that asks me if I want to "Continue playing on Web Player" or play music from the iphone. I don't use Web Player so unless someone else is logging into my account, I don't know why it would think it's playing from Web Player. It also sets the volume to max every time it does this.
